haha, no. they're a different species of squirrels. they have flaps of skin that connect their front and back legs. they don't really fly, they more jump and then glide from branch to branch.Are flying squirrels just regular squirrels who lost a lot of weight?

i live in east texas %26amp; call them sugar gliders


they are about half the size ( or less ) of regular cat squirrels


they have webb between arms %26amp; legs but really just ';hop'; %26amp; ';flop'; from tree to tree


i see lots of them in the fall/ winter


they like anything stale breaad, crackers, cereal, cheerios, even some bird seed now %26amp; again/

Flying squirrels are squirrels that have skin going from their arms to their legs like wings. They use these to glide from tree to tree.

Seriously, we have Flying Squirrels in Missouri. I've lived here 26 years but just found out about them several years ago. Flying Squirrels are nocturnal.

No ,they are not the same. Flying squirrels have a web of skin at their front legs to the body to glide to different trees or to escape danger.

No... when they jump and spread their from and back legs they flatten out and almost look like flat frisbee

Completely different type of squirrel. They have extra skin between both sides of their body. Between each of their feet. The get up high and glide across a clearing.

I saw something on utube how someone had a slingshot rigged on their porch, the squirrels would get in it and get shot a considerable distance. If I didnt know how evil they could be, I'd have been upset by it.
